If you want to import a full length song or performance and have Logic figure out it’s tempo so you can follow along with it’s tempo or lock it to a specific tempo, then Detect Tempo is what you are looking for. However, this may not always be the best option for figuring out the tempo of loops or other shorter audio files. For that check out Adjust Tempo Using Region Length And Locators.
